True Lindy Pride At the Middle School

On April 30th, Town Councilman Tom Donnelly visited Lindenhurst Middle School to recognize eighth grader Alexis Warren and sixth grader Luke Cawley for their work on two projects to improve the environment. Alexis Warren received $1,000 from the Disney Friends for Change Grant to use for a recycling project that will include the addition of new woodchips in the school’s courtyard. Luke Cawley collected funds to purchase two new linden trees for the courtyard after researching that Lindenhurst’s name comes from the vast amounts of linden seeds planted by settlers throughout the area. Pictured in the front (from left to right) are Luke Cawley, Alexis Warren, and Guidance Counselor Alison Kast. Behind them are teacher Kate Hynes, Principal Frank Naccarito, School Board Member Ed Langone, School Board Member Mary Ellen Cunningham, Ann Parmaly of Senator Phil Boyle’s office, Councilman Donnelly, Superintendent of Schools Richard Nathan, Assistant Principal Dr. Bruce Hoffman, and teacher Stephen DiVisconti.
