Lindy Local Events
The NYPD Finest Football Team is playing the '#1 in Our Hearts' game on Saturday versus the Long Island Panthers in memory of Joe Pritchard, the NYPD officer from North Babylon who lost his life tragically in a March 25 crash on the Long Island Expressway. The team, on which Pritchard played, plays the Long Island Panthers at the Lindenhurst Middle School Field. The game starts at 6:30 p.m., and admission is free, but donations are encouraged as they'll go toward a scholarship fund that's being started in Pritchard's name. Friday is Steak Night at the Lindenhurst Moose Lodge from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m.

Blithe Spirit will take the stage at the BACCA Arts Center in Lindenhurst this weekend with performances running through Saturday. Performances are 8 p.m., with a special 2 p.m. matinee on Saturday. Tickets cost $15 at the door or are available online.

Browse the multi-family yard sale happening at 23 Grove Street in Lindenhurst on Saturday and Sunday from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m.

The NYLAG Mobile Legal Van is offering free legal assistance at Camp Bulldog at Shore Road Park on Sunday from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m., according to the Village of Lindenhurst Deputy Mayor Kevin McCaffrey, who set up the VOL's text messaging system (text VOL to 411247 for updates).

Neighbors Supporting Neighbors Babylon ia hosting a BBQ and information session for Hurricane Sandy victims at Fred Shores on Saturday from 11:30 a.m. to 2:30 p.m. Representatives from FEMA will be on hand to help handle claims and answer questions, as well as the Dorothy Maples Long Island Recovery Center, AmeriCorps Volunteer Services, Lou Suarez from the Town of Babylon, the Family Service League, Island Harvest and Project Hope. Tanger's partnering with celebrity chef Curtis Stone to celebrate the popularity of food trucks across the nation.
