Child Dies After Being Found in N. Lindenhurst Pool

Six-year old was listed in critical condition after nearly drowning.

UPDATE (10 a.m.): Suffolk County Police have confirmed the six-year old boy has passed away at Good Samaritan Hospital Medical Center.

Original Story: A six-year old boy is in critical condition after nearly drowning in a family pool in North Lindenhurst on Tuesday afternoon.

Suffolk County Police said a grandmother found her six-year old grandson in the family pool at her home at 90 Bedell Street at around 5 p.m. Monday.

The child was reportedly unresponsive after being pulled from the water. The grandmother called 911 right after at approximately 5:05 p.m.

The six-year old was rushed to Good Samaritan Hospital Medical Center in West Islip where he was listed in critical condition.

Police said they are continuing to investigate the circumstances surrounding the incident.
