Police Investigation of Party at Former BOE Trustee's Home On-Going

Following the abrupt resignation of Lindenhurst Board of Education Trustee Julie Bartolomeo on Wednesday night, Suffolk County Police said they’re continuing their investigation into alleged incidents during a party at her home.

Bartolomeo tendered her resignation during executive session after the BOE’s monthly public business meeting on October 3 after a resident, Peter Irizarry, spoke publicly about alleged activities at a party at Bartolomeo's home.

Patch is not immediately making those allegations public until the alleged activities can be confirmed with a second source.

Responding to an inquiry by Lindenhurst Patch, a Suffolk County Police spokesperson said, “The SCPD is aware of the allegations, and investigating,” but declined to provide further specifics.

As for the Lindenhurst School District, officials declined further comment at this time.

Attempts to reach Bartolomeo for comment have been unsuccessful.
