Holidays & Spring Break
For those who observe Sunday, March 24, is Palm Sunday, and Passover begins at sundown on Monday, March 25.

Lindenhurst Schools are closed from March 25 to 29.

Easter Festivities
Easter Sunday is March 31, but there's a host of activities for the holiday this weekend.

Head to Belmont Lake State Park on Saturday for the 20th Annual Spring Egg Hunt, which begins at 12:15 p.m. In addition to the hunt, there'll be a petting zoo, temporary tattoos, pony rides, environmental crafts, a visit by the Spring Bunny and more.

You could also hunt for eggs at Phelps Lane Park in North Babylon during the Town of Babylon's Spring Eggstravaganza on Saturday, starting at 12 p.m. Kids can enjoy pony rides, a petting zoo and face painting, as well.

West Babylon Fire Department's Annual Breakfast with the Easter Bunny will also take place at WBFD Headquarters at 126 Arnold Avenue on Sunday from 8 a.m. to 12 p.m., according to information posted by Ken Osman to Lindenhurst Patch’s Facebook page.

Take your pictures with the Easter Bunny in the Enchanted Spring Garden. The Long Island Masonics will again be there offering free fingerprinting and identification packages, clowns and balloons. The TMB Model Railroad club will also be present with a working train table top display. Come see Sparky the Talking Animated Fire Dog driving his own Fire Engine. WBAB will be on site with free games and giveaways.

Adult admission is $7.00; children, $4.00; and children younger than three get in for free. There are no advanced tickets sales to this event. For more information call 631-669-9822.

Lindy Local Events
The Salvation Army will be at Camp Bulldog on Fridays from 12 p.m. to 4 p.m. to assist Hurricane Sandy victims in need.

The NYLEG Mobile Legal Van is offering free legal assistance at Camp Bulldog at Shore Road Park on Sunday from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m., according to the Village of Lindenhurst's text messaging system (text VOL to 411247 for updates).

The Spring Vendor Showcase at Saint John's Lutheran Church is set for Saturday at 10 a.m.
