Lindy Alum Named All-Conference for Men's Tennis

Alex Bessarabov, Farmingdale State College senior and men's tennis team member and Lindenhurst Class of 2008 graduate, is named to the All-Skyline Conference Team.

Lindenhurst High School Class of 2008 alum and Farmingdale State College senior and men's tennis team member Alex Bessarabov was named to the All-Skyline Conference Team this season.

He was one of four players on the team named to the All-Skyline Conference Team.

Bessarabov and fellow senior player Ryan Musalo,of Massapequa Park, were named to the First Team. Junior Steven Ferrantello, of Dix Hills, earned Second Team All-Conference honors. And sophomore Justin Vijungco, of Forest Hills, earned Player of the Year honors.

"Bessarabov was an impressive 12-1 in singles, including a perfect 6-0 in Skyline matches," according to information posted earlier this week on the Farmingdale State Rams website here.

In addition Bessarabov and Ferrantello were 10-3 at #2 doubles this year.

In his tennis career at LHS, Bessarabov was the team's MVP, a four-year varsity player and received All-League Honors.

On the Farmingdale State team Bessarabov was named Second Team All-Conference and Skyline Tournament MVP and posted an 11-4 record (5-0 Skyline) playing mainly #3 singles in his junior year.

He was also 8-6 in second doubles.

In his sophomore year Bessarabov posted a 12-2 record at #3 singles and was 9-7 in doubles. He also received Second Team All-Skyline Conference honors.

In his freshman year Bessarabov was named Skyline Conference Rookie of the Year, and finished the season 7-4 at #2 singles and 1-0 at #1 singles.

In addition he held a 9-3 doubles record playing a majority of the matches in the #2 position.
