Stolen Car Crashes on N. Allegheny, Leads to Police Pursuit

Stolen car was abandoned by four suspects after Lindenhurst crash, police said.

Update (10:05 a.m.): A Suffolk County Police spokesperson told Patch there were no arrests made at this point.

A stolen car crashed on North Allegheny Avenue in North Lindenhurst at around 11:50 p.m., leading to a police pursuit of four suspects that ran from the vehicle.

A Suffolk County Police spokesperson told Patch that officers saw four people running from the scene of a car crash on North Allegheny Avenue near Frank Street at around 11:50 p.m. Wednesday.

Police pursued the suspects, but there was no immediate word on whether the suspects were caught or not.

Many Lindenhurst residents reported seeing a Suffolk County Police helicopter in the air above the area late last evening with the spotlight on as the officers searched for the suspects.

The police spokesperson told Patch the car had been stolen, but never actually reported stolen by its owner.

The investigation is reportedly ongoing.
