Cops: Man Killed in N. Lindy Crash Was from Central Islip

First Squad detectives are investigating the single-car crash on Sunrise Highway that killed Rommiek Perry, 33, early Friday morning.

Suffolk Police have identified the man killed in the one-vehicle crash at North Fulton Avenue earlier this morning as Rommiek Perry, 33, of Central Islip.

According to police, Perry was operating a 2007 Suzuki heading East on Sunrise Highway, apparently at a high rate of speed, when his vehicle hit a guard rail and overturned near North Fulton at 3:31 a.m.

Perry was ejected from the vehicle, police said, and he was transported by the North Lindenhurst Fire Department to Good Samaritan Hospital in West Islip where he was pronounced dead.

The vehicle was impounded for a safety check, noted police, and the investigation is continuing.

Detectives are asking anyone with information about the May 10 crash to contact the First Precinct at 631-854-8152.
